Landscape Architecture and landscaping companies can be confused by the general public. Though the services can overlap there are many differences. The design services for a project such as a building or a landscape are performed by an architect or qualified design professional. They have the education in design, health wellness and safety codes for the public welfare. The actual construction part of the project is performed by numerous skilled individuals who are licensed contractors or subcontractors in construction. They are responsible for following the design direction and codes in the set of construction documents. The work of design (client meetings, county inspector meetings) and the physical labor are both hard work. The distinction is the division of labor.

Many landscapers offer design services. There is no licensure to call oneself a designer. While some individuals may be good at it, my education is art distinguishes my services because I can use the design principals every time.
